Shoppin' with Palin

In my last post on Palin I mentioned how everyone is busy looking for pictures of her in a swimsuit or her pageant photos. So far I've not seen anything legit emerge. Which leads me to the entire point of this post and the headline I chose.

Since no photo's have as of yet been uploaded to the web, people have been getting creative with Photoshop and creating their own. One was so good it actually fooled a CNN reporter.

OGUNNAIKE: And that's what she is going to have to guard against. I mean, McCain has been really good about painting Obama as this lightweight, using the word "celebrity" as a pejorative. They don't want to have a boomerang effect. They don't want that to come back on Sarah Palin, and people say, yes, she looks good in a bikini clutching an AK-47, but is she equipped to run the country? LOLOA OGUNNAIKE, CNN ENTERTAINMENT CORRESPONDENT
The photo above is the one that fooled her.

The real photo is here:

But why stop there? Here are a few more photos of favorite Palin shops...

How can I tell they are all "shopped"? Well I'm glad you asked because it segues nicely into another favorite meme of mine...

This is one of my favorite McCain Photoshops:

OK, that's enough for now. Hope you enjoyed the show. I'll leave you with a real picture of Palin from her college days wearing a t-shirt celebrating her boobies.

Rick Astley on his meme

In a rather interesting case of synchronicity this morning, I ran across an article from The Guardian published today where Rick Astley was talking about and grading the various Rick Rolls circulating the internet.

Basketball Roll

A college basketball match is interrupted when some red haired dude dressed in a suspiciously familiar grey mac stalks the bleachers miming to... Cue lots of ornery looking parents and confused cheerleaders.

Rick: "It's really weird seeing someone impersonating you. But at the same time Vic Reeves' impersonation of me is one of the highlights of my life. I think it's one of the best things ever. I've just been to Manila performing, and there was a guy who was a film star there at the gig. He sang Never Gonna Give You Up with me and he was hilarious. I have fun with my past, I don't carry it around in a bag with me."

Barack roll

Edited footage of his royal Obamaness, dancing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, spliced with bits of his speeches to look and sound as if he's singing the track.

Rick: "I don't trust politicians. I think that by the time they've made it, with the concessions they've had to make in that position, I don't believe they still have the beliefs they had at the root. I think it's going to be interesting because he'll be the first black president. I'd be interested to see what black people in America really see him as - a 'black person' or a democrat who happens to have dark skin. I can't get my head around it. I also have a horrible feeling that he won't last very long. It's kind of depressing."

Fox roll

April Fool's Day came in hilarious spurts for that famously mirthful news network Fox. "Project Virgle" was the name of the first permanent human colony on Mars co-funded by Virgin and Google. It didn't exist of course but was reported by Fox. "Cut to VT" and it actually cut to...

Rick: "Fair play to them for putting it on national TV. The biggest thing I heard on April Fool's Day was that if you went to YouTube every one of the videos on the homepage Rick Roll'd and went to Never Gonna Give You Up. They got in touch with me about that and asked if I wanted to get to do something for it. But I said no thanks - it's been nice to be forgotten."

Hitler roll

A subverted scene from Oliver Hirschbiegel's film about Hitler's last days, Downfall. Here, Hitler is going over possible rap acts that will play his birthday party (Snoop, a reunited NWA). A henchman tells Adolf that Dr Dre has emailed the Fuhrer a link to his latest release. Hitler doesn't find it very amusing.

Rick: "Oh god! That's not as bad as Reich Roll'd though - footage of Hitler giving all his infamous speeches overdubbed with Never Gonna Give You Up. That's pushing it. I'm 42 and I could have had a tangible connection to anything from world war two. For the younger generation though it's ancient history, so it's probably not too distasteful to them."

Scientology roll

Xenu was kicked to the kerb, when a post pointing to a "Scientology Video Channel" was actually... yes you guessed it.

Rick: "That's kind of spooky that one. 'Scientology' always makes me think of that movie V where that woman takes off her mask of human flesh to reveal her true, alien self. I know that I'll probably be off Tom Cruise's Christmas list for saying that. Did I see the Oprah couch jump? No it's kind of hard to watch that... You never know if that was a publicity stunt or whatever. But he can do whatever he wants - he's one of the biggest, most bankable stars in the world isn't he?

Station roll

A huge crowd of "real" people get together at Liverpool Street Station in London to sing Never Gonna Give You Up in unison. Lots of camera phones, drunk City boys and missed trains to Wivenhoe.

Rick: "Someone emailed me about this. He'd received a chain email and called me up a couple of days before. It happened on a Friday at 6pm. By the evening it was all over YouTube. I watched those, it was so funny to get everyone in Liverpool Street Station to sing a pop song from 1987."

Speaking of new kinds of "Rick Rolls", this god-awful thing is starting to make it's rounds. This Muppets version is one of my favorites and finally is a scary Rick Roll. Finally, here's yet another site on everything Rick. Have fun!

McCain - Walter Reed gaffe? I think not!

Sites like Daily Kos are all over a supposed gaffe by the McCain staff for showing the "wrong" picture of Walter Reed. Instead of the Army Hospital, they showed what they deem an obscure picture of a Middle School in California.

Well, I'm here to set the record straight. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The McCain campaign has already released an official statement. This is a non-story that mindless liberal lemmings are going to try and make hay over for nothing.

---

Washington D.C. (AP) - Early reports this morning are suggesting that the "green screen" backdrop used by Senator McCain during his speech last night were intended to depict the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, but actually—and mistakenly—depicted Walter Reed Middle School in North Hollywood, CA. This is an inaccurate assessment of the situation.

McCain staffers thoroughly vetted a variety of locations to be used as a backdrop for the presidential nominee's speech, and settled deliberately on Walter Reed Middle School for several reasons.

The fact that it is a middle school represents the sincere connection that the McCain campaign has to middle America, the lifeblood of this great country, and further depicts our sincere appreciation of the fact that children--even children in a traditionally liberal stronghold such as California--represent the future of this great nation.

By choosing a middle school sharing the same name as the Walter Reed Medical Facility, John McCain is demonstrating his sincere appreciation and hope that the young Americans attending this facility of education will grow up to be the sort of American heroes who will one day possibly be served by the Walter Reed Hospital.

This is the great hope and fervent prayer of our candidate--that all Americans, even those not appreciated by the urban elite, recognize the potential of a hero within themselves without having to lose five and a half years of their own lives in the process. AP Reporter Pocket Ninja

Mixed-drink disaster leaves college girl with permanent "butterface"

In case you've ever thought of trying the "oh so enticing Euro" concoction of Baileys, chilli, tequila, absinthe, ouzo, vodka, cider and gin, taking a look at this woman's face should quickly dissuade you.

Doctor's say she may look like this the rest of her life. As much as I loved her in Bridget Jone's Diary, it would be sad if she had to stay this way forever after only one drink.

With all the JMU students back in town, I'm sure this little concoction will be making it's rounds. Remember, you were warned here first.

/Spread the word. Stick with one drink, don't mix.

Republicans in power = Awesome TV

Let's face it, when it comes to political satire, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert win hands down. And who gives them all the wonderful material daily? Republicans! Let's face it, making fun of Democrats just isn't all that funny.

Aside from all the Bushisms and other right-wing scandels that had us howling in laughter from those two over the past 8 years, I submit this clip which is pure comedy gold:

Now I ask you, who doesn't want 8 more years of this kind of quality TV?

If ya ask me, it's reason enough to vote McCain + MILF ticket.

The relationship between Bigfoot and UFOs

Peter Leeson over at Freakonomics got together with Claudia Williamson to see if they could find any relationship between these two phenomena's using the tools of economics. This is what they found out:

We’re still in the early data-collecting stages of our project; but in doing so we’ve come across an intriguing pattern. The figure below plots total U.F.O. sightings in the U.S. for each state (per 10,000 residents) between 1997 and 2007 against total Bigfoot sightings in each state (per 10,000 residents) for the same period.

INSERT DESCRIPTION

The relationship is strong and positive. States with more U.F.O. sightings also have more Bigfoot sightings. In fact, six of the top ten U.F.O. and Bigfoot states are the same: Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, Alaska, Wyoming, and Colorado. Two states, Washington and Oregon, are among both categories’ top five.

"The data suggest that alien spacecraft and Bigfoot tend to visit the same states with similar relative frequencies."

Basically concluding: "a number of the top ten U.F.O. and Bigfoot states share more in common than ample sightseeing opportunities. For instance, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Colorado — both U.F.O. and Bigfoot hot spots — are among the least religious states in the country, which might impact their citizens’ likelihood of “seeing” both phenomena."

Now as fascinating as this study is, one could also come to other conclusions such as Bigfoots are really aliens. How else can you explain their technology that blurs cameras and videos from great distances? Or maybe the aliens are just messing with us and dressing in Bigfoot costumes when visiting. Who knows? It could be their equivalent to college hazing. And Crop circles being a version of tagging the earth with their fraternity logo.

I'm anxiously awaiting their next study on Chupacabra, Werewolves, the Loch Ness Monster, Vampires , Elves and Pixies. I bet they find similar correlations.

No matter, I'm sure all these mysteries will be solved by 2012 anyway.

Guess what all the buzz is over the internet today? Ever since McCain announced Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, people (guys) are looking for her swimsuit pics! Folks seem to be more interested in Sarah's 88 Ms. Alaska competition photos that her qualifications for VP.

Of course when the news was announced, the headlines read SARAH PALIN TAPPED FOR McCAIN's RUNNING MATE.

Are you kidding me? I'd tap that too! And now it looks like most of America is behind that headline as well. First MILF VP in history!

Wow. What a day.

Hey, wasn't Cindy McCain a swimsuit model too? I wonder if there's a connection? lol

Ya gotta admit though, McCain has great taste in women. That crafty bastard, he's going to win this erection, I mean election hands down! ;-)

Anyway, if you are actually interested in learning more about this amazing woman, here's her Wiki page.

Oh, and if you came here hoping to find pics of Sarah in her swimsuit? Dude, go take a cold shower.
